Campus Champion

SUNY Cortland’s 58-member Campus Rescue squad puts service above self; both on campus and off. When devastating floods destroyed homes and displaced thousands of people in and around Binghamton, N.Y., in early September, the emergency services group’s student leaders spearheaded three relief-effort trips. From left, Chief Rebecca Schwartzman, former Chief Austin Glickman and Assistant Chief Matthew Green led fellow members to the Southern Tier, providing first-response services and delivering rescue supplies in the process. Next, they plan to rebuild churches and homes ruined by flooding in Tioga County.
