Campus Champion

A busy summer of service-learning greeted Mollie Blafer in May when she departed for a two-week service immersion trip to Oahu, Hawaii. One of 13 Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority members selected from a pool of national applicants, she teamed up with local environmental groups to take on projects in primitive island locations. Now back in Cortland, the senior sociology major serves for a second summer as an Orientation Assistant for incoming students. And when that work is done, she continues her ongoing service with the YMCA’s Bridges for Kids program. This summer she’ll be hanging with her 6-year-old friend named Lily.
