Campus ChampionNominated as “one of the busiest people on campus,” meet Justin Kompf ’12, a former fitness development major who followed an internship to the west coast before returning a year later as athletic department strength coach, lecturer and exercise science graduate student. Mornings find him teaching classes, working on his thesis and providing personal training sessions. Afternoon team strength training sessions have him enthusiastically encouraging SUNY Cortland’s student-athletes. When asked what he does for fun, he pointed to a wall of his published papers then joked about a recent half marathon and powerlifting competitions. “But that’s another story,” he said.
