Campus Champion

Growing up in Brooklyn, N.Y., Michael Guity often found himself in the spot of the leader – and he always ran with it, finding strength and success in the process. The junior math major again finds himself in the forefront as president of the Black Student Union (BSU). The group has initiated town hall meetings to discuss issues related to race, bias and discrimination on campus, and he was overwhelmed by the strong turnout at the first event last month. Charting a career in accounting, Michael’s learned to count on this: open dialogue is the path to action and change.
