Campus ChampionChris Pecone is a foodservice leader with Cortland Auxiliary Services focused on student life and sustainability. Since 2010, Chris has worked on campus as a supervisor, executive chef and now as senior food service manager. He is part of the equation that makes SUNY Cortland one of the greenest campuses in New York. Chris' commitment to sustainability helped implement programs like the Cortland Cupboard's Filled Fridge Fridays. He and his team saw a need — students with food insecurity — and a solution through the pre-consumer food left over during food production. Now they use that to prep pre-packaged meals available in the Cortland Cupboard refrigerator for any student.
