The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) funds grants and supports faculty applying for internal and external awards. We advertise internal and SUNY-level awards and fellowships, mentor applicants, and connect applicants to previous award winners.

Center for Teaching and Learning Faculty Associates
This person would be responsible for:
- Leading a SoTL Community of Practice
- Offering two workshops introducing SoTL to the community
- Mentoring faculty who are working on SoTL projects during set weekly office hours
- Working with the CTL to brainstorm activities that would support a robust community of SoTL practitioners at Cortland

Course Redesign Grants
Universal Design for Learning Course Redesign Grant
The Accessibility CoP will foster a collaborative learning environment where faculty engage in reflective dialogue, share strategies, and work toward actionable improvements in accessibility. By centering Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and other inclusive pedagogical frameworks, the CoP will support faculty in creating more equitable and usable learning experiences.
Professional Development Objectives Through facilitated sessions and peer engagement, participants will:
- Develop a shared understanding of accessibility frameworks such as UDL.
- Identify and mitigate barriers to access in course design, instruction, and assessment.
- Apply inclusive design principles to course materials and pedagogical strategies.
- Receive and offer peer feedback on accessibility efforts.
- Design and implement an assessment strategy to track accessibility redesign effectiveness.
- Produce a final deliverable that supports and promotes accessibility on campus.
Faculty participants will be responsible for submitting the following:
- Accessibility Action Plan: A personalized, goal-oriented strategy to improve accessibility within a specific course.
- Peer Feedback Contribution: Engagement in peer review activities and contributions to a shared bank of accessibility resources.
- Final Group Deliverable: UDL informed course materials to be used in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 and a presentation on your work at the Teaching and Learning Conference, a Sandwich Seminar, or a Department Workshop.
Participants must be able to attend in person workshops on the following Fridays from 10-12:
- October 10th
- November 14th
- December 12th
- February 6th
- March 6th
- April 10th
Applications for the Accessibility Redesign Grant are due by September 15th, 2025.
