Dear students,
I want to share with you a few reminders and updates about COVID-19 testing before the start of the new semester.
- All students, whether you live on- or off-campus, must submit a negative test, either PCR or rapid at-home, before they arrive on campus. Details on this policy were emailed to you on Jan. 11 and are available online.
- Students living on campus should follow the guidance on arrival testing that was emailed to you earlier this week. Details are available online.
- Off-campus students, including student-athletes and others who may have already been in Cortland for some time, should test again before classes begin on Monday, Jan. 24.
SUNY Cortland will offer COVID-19 PCR tests for off-campus students in need of testing. You may register now for a timeslot via the COVID student pool testing sign-up box on the COVID tab in myRedDragon. This testing will occur in Corey Union, Room 204 on Thursday, Jan. 20, Friday, Jan. 21 and Saturday, Jan. 22. Testing is limited. Please register today if you plan on testing on one of these dates.
Off-campus students may also choose to test at the state-operated public testing site in the Carl A. "Chugger" Davis Building located at the Stadium Complex. This site is open on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You may register for an appointment using the Quadrant Biosciences online portal.
If you do test positive, it is important that you follow all guidance on isolation that you will receive from the Cortland County Health Department. Please notify the associate dean of your academic school to inform them of any class time you may miss.
We are fortunate to have these resources available on our campus. Please make use of these testing opportunities before classes begin to best protect the health of everyone in our community.
All the best,
Erik J. Bitterbaum
President
