The latest edition of SUNY Cortland’s alumni magazine, Columns, is now available online.
This issue features stories on many Red Dragons who are meeting challenges on many fronts, including COVID-19 and issues of race and equity.
Highlights from the Fall 2020 Columns include:
- Ernie Logan ’73, president and CEO of the American Federation of School Administrators, wrote a column, “Are we now ready to have a serious conversation about race?”
- Three SUNY Cortland alumni, Tim Bennett ’07, Brian Tobin ’94 and Crystal Lyon ’09, played instrumental roles in the creation of a Black Lives Matter mural in downtown Cortland.
- Amy Howard Williams ’02 was honored for her volunteer work for military families during the 2020 State of the Union.
- Many Cortland alumni are leading the way on the fight against COVID-19, including American Hospital Association President and CEO Rick Pollack ’77, registered nurse Kristie Houlihan ’18 and Liza Kotar M ’19, who is using her Fulbright Research Award to study the virus in Russia.
