Raquette Lake
Located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, SUNY Cortland’s educational facilities on Raquette Lake include the Antlers lodge, Kirby Camp and Camp Huntington, the only National Historic Landmark in the SUNY system. This unique learning environment is great for research activities, teacher workshops and high school classes.

Brauer Field Station
Built as a rustic log cabin, this conference center on 33 acres near Albany, N.Y., offers a striking location for field study. Brauer Field Station is located near the Helderberg Escarpment, known for its significant geologic landscape and fossils. A gift from Everton and Elsie Brauer in memory of their son Robert, this peaceful facility is open from May through October.
Hoxie Gorge
Situated just seven miles from our main campus in Cortland, this nature preserve serves nearly 1,000 students each year who are involved in academic field study. It is one of the most geologically unique areas in New York state. Take a walk along the McDermott Nature Trail and experience firsthand the stunning environmental features that make the Finger Lakes such a special region.
