Online Parking account management
Students, faculty and staff wishing to purchase a parking permit, manage their registration information, pay a ticket, and/or appeal a ticket, log into the Parking Portal using your myRedDragon account.
Purchase a Parking Permit
Using your myRedDragon account, select the “Parking Management System” (under the “Student” or “Faculty/Staff” tab as applicable):
- Click "Order a Permit"
- Select permit type
- Select existing or add a new vehicle
- Click "Add Permit to Cart"
- Complete credit card information
- Click "Confirm"
- Once payment is processed, the permit process is complete. No permit will be mailed or need to be picked up, the vehicle license plate(s) will be linked electronically to your permit. For more information, please see the virtual permitting page.
How to add a vehicle to an existing permit (faculty and staff only).
- Select the permit number you wish to add the vehicle to
- Click "Add"
- Add new vehicle information
- Enter reason for adding additional vehicle
- Click "Request Addition"
How to remove a vehicle from an existing permit (faculty and staff only).
- Click the "Remove" tab
- Select the vehicle you wish to remove
- Enter comment
- Click "Request Removal"
Permit Prices
Beginning Fall 2020, SUNY Cortland student parking has been designated “Residential” or “Commuter”. Students with on-campus housing assignments (aside from West Campus) are eligible for Residential permits. Students without on-campus permits are eligible for “Commuter” permits.
Permits will be sold on a per-semester basis only.
Total number of all permit types sold are subject to a cap. Once permit type pools are exhausted, students may enter a wait list in the unlikely event that additional permits will become available.
Residential
- Semester permit cost is $75 ($25 registration fee, $50 parking fee). Registration fees are non-refundable.
- Allows for 24/7 vehicle parking in lots S-57, S-62, S-68 (the interior double rows) and S-70.
- Time-limited parking available in S-54 lot. See “Rules and Regulations” page for more information.
Commuter
- Semester permit cost is $75 full-time, $50 part-time ($25 registration fee, $50 full-time/$25 part-time parking fee). Registration fees are non-refundable
- Allows for time-limited vehicle parking in lots S-54, S-55, S-66, S-64, and S-68 (the exterior single rows). See “Rules and Regulations” page for more information.
- No overnight parking
Graduate student
- Semester permit cost is $75 full-time, $50 part-time ($25 registration fee, $50 full-time/$25 part-time parking fee). Registration fees are non-refundable.
- Graduate students represented by GSEU are eligible to receive a Graduate permit valid through the next August 10th for the $25 registration fee. There is no parking fee for this permit.
- Allows for time-limited vehicle parking in lots S-54, S-55, S-66, S-64, and S-68 (the exterior single rows).
- Allows for parking from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in lots N-1 through N-8, N-13, N-14, N-21, N-24, N-26, S-56, S-58, S-63, S-75, S-79. See “Rules and Regulations” page for more information.
West Campus
- The West Campus parking lot permits are included in the housing agreement with Residence Life & Housing. Residents living at West Campus will still need to register online, but a fee will not be charged to the recipient.
- Allows for 24/7 parking in W-100 lot
- Time-limited parking available in lots S-54, and S-64. See “Rules and Regulations” page for more information.
Off-Peak
- Semester permit cost is $40 ($25 registration fee, $15 parking fee). Registration fees are non-refundable.
- Allows for parking from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in lots S-54, S-55, S-66, S-64, and S-68 (the exterior single rows).
- Allows for parking from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in lots N-1 through N-8, N-13, N-14, N-21, N-24, N-26, S-56, S-58, S-63, S-68 (the exterior single rows), S-75, S-79.

Summer Session/Student Employee
- When Fall or Spring sessions are not active, all student lots are open parking. Time and posted restrictions still in effect. See “Rules and Regulations” page for more information.
Faculty and Staff Parking Registration Fees:
- Full year registration for Faculty/Staff represented by/member of UUP, CSEA, PEF, Research Foundation or Management Confidential is $25. Faculty/staff permit holders may park in any lot according to times specified in the “Rules and Regulations” page. Individually posted restriction in effect.
Vendor
- Faculty/Staff Lots. Full year vendor permit is $55 ($25 registration fee, $30 parking fee).
Payment may be cash, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card or a check made payable to SUNY Cortland.
The Parking Operations and Security Services Office and the University Police Department are responsible for issuing parking citations on campus roadways and campus parking lots.
Tickets may be paid online, at the Parking Operations and Security Services Office or at the Student Accounts Office which is located on the third floor of the Miller Building. Current fines are $25 per ticket and will increase to $35 after 60 days, if not paid. Accessible parking violations are $100 per ticket and will increase to $110 after 60 days.

To pay tickets online students, faculty and staff will need to log on to the Parking Portal.
- Select the ticket or search for tickets.

The Parking Operations and Security Services Office accepts Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card.
Visitors and others that do not have a myRedDragon account may pay parking tickets online.
Ticket Appeals
If you have received a ticket and you feel that you were not in violation, as shown on the ticket summons, you may appeal the ticket by filing an appeal. All appeals must be submitted within seven days from the date in which the ticket was issued. You may also appeal your ticket in person by making an appointment with the appeals committee. To make an appointment email or call the Parking Operations and Security Services Office.
Once the appeal has been submitted it will be reviewed by a panel and the decision will be emailed or mailed to you. All decisions are final.
Appeal a Parking Ticket Online
To appeal parking tickets online students, faculty and staff will need to log on to the Parking Portal and choose appeal a parking ticket.
Visitors and others that do not have a myRedDragon account may pay parking tickets online.
