Alexander G. Gonzalez
Alexander G. Gonzalez, English, had his article, “Joyce’s Presence in Iris Murdoch’s ‘Something Special,’” published in Studies in Short Fiction after many delays on the journal’s part. Gonzalez received encouraging support from the College Research Committee, which awarded him a Faculty Research Program grant in 2007.
James F. Hokanson
James F. Hokanson, Kinesiology Department, served as a mentor for senior exercise science student Corey Temple in his poster presentation at the 2016 SUNY Undergraduate Research Program: Exploration and Observation, held Feb. 24 in Albany, N.Y. Temple’s poster was titled, “Running Economy on an Alter G Treadmill.”

Jennifer Janes, Institutional Advancement, earned her Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University on May 19. She is the director of The Cortland Fund.
Andrew Fitz-Gibbon
Andrew Fitz-Gibbon, Philosophy Department, presented his second address as president of Concerned Philosophers for Peace at their annual conference in October in Yosemite National Park. His presidential address was titled “Return to Earth: A New Natural Philosophy.”
Thomas Hischak
Thomas Hischak, professor of theatre emeritus, was one of seven playwrights nationwide to have a play selected by the American Association of Community Theatres (AACT) for its 2016 New Play Fest. Hischak’s play “The Emperor of North America” was produced in September by the Silver Spring Stage in Silver Spring, Md., and the script is to be published by the Dramatic Publishing Company. Hischak is currently an adjunct professor at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.
David Kilpatrick
David Kilpatrick, Psychology Department, wrote a book that was released on Sept. 8 by Wiley and Sons. His book is titled Essentials of Assessing, Preventing, and Overcoming Reading Difficulties.
Mary Ware
Mary Ware, professor emerita of Foundations and Social Advocacy, and Mary F. Stuck, professor emerita of sociology at SUNY Oswego, facilitated a presidential salon discussion on diversity and inclusion on Feb. 27 at D'Youville College.
Wylie Schwartz
Wylie Schwartz, Art and Art History Department, presented a paper titled “Experimental Pedagogies: The Art and Politics of the Danish Ex-School (1961-1972),” at the 18th International Conference on the Arts in Society held July 5 to 7 at Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland.
Also, Schwartz gave a museum talk titled “Between Laboratory and Mythology: Asger Jorn, Wifredo Lam and the New Primitivism” on July 11 at the Casa Jorn Museum in Albissola, Italy. Her talk is in conjunction with the exhibition LAM et Les Magiciens de la Mer at the Savona Museum of Ceramics and at the Exhibition Center of MuDA, Albissola Marina.
