Tuition for non-New York residents

Tuition for online programs

SUNY Cortland’s fully online master’s program in history welcomes students from across the country. Non-New York state residents also pay a special discounted tuition rate for fully online programs.

For the most current information about graduate online program tuition rates, visit the university’s tuition and fees page. Note that non-New York state resident information is in the table titled Graduate: Online Program Charges.

Graduate assistantships

Paid graduate assistants are required to be in-person and local to SUNY Cortland’s campus.

Other considerations for non-New York state residents

The M.A. program will appeal to social studies teachers in search of a graduate degree that they can earn from anywhere. Similar to New York, states such as Connecticut and Maryland require a master’s to teach social studies at the high school level. This program fulfills that requirement.

Non-New York state residents should ensure that they can work around Eastern Standard Time when necessary, especially when turning in assignments, virtually meeting with instructors and collaborating with peers.
