Since becoming Director in 2023, Stuart has led the IRA through changes in reporting while working to make data more accessible to campus constituents. He started at SUNY Cortland as an Institutional Research Analyst in 2016 and briefly served as Associate Director from 2022-2023. His background in Psychology and statistics highlights his appreciation for measuring the immeasurable and using data to inform decisions. With an array of campus knowledge, Stuart hopes to keep SUNY Cortland visible in the increasingly competitive higher education landscape. He enjoys being out in nature and trying to make others laugh.

Nikole's responsibilities include summarizing the results of campus surveys and supporting various mandatory and voluntary reporting for internal and external stakeholders - including that for teacher education, institutional planning, and accreditation. Prior to joining our team at Cortland, Nikole was a teacher and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Hamilton College and Brown University, where her work on plant evolution during the Devonian period involved extensive data analysis and visualization. Nikole loves finding creative and informative ways to make data accessible. In her free time, Nikole enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels with her dog curled up beside her.

Gabriel’s program of research focuses on reducing educational, social, and economic disparities through higher education. Specifically, his research has focused on college access, success, and affordability. One area of interest is improving college affordability for underrepresented students, which can help increase their access to and success in higher education. Another area involves identifying systemic barriers to college access for marginalized groups, such as justice-involved individuals, and providing evidence-based solutions to enhance their educational opportunities. As an Institutional Research Analyst at SUNY Cortland, he aims to analyze enrollment patterns and student outcomes to support evidence-based strategies that enhance institutional effectiveness and promote student success.
