The mission of RSPO is to:
- Strengthen research and scholarship through external funding
- Assist faculty in building their expertise and talents in sponsored activity
- Support discovery and innovation through project development and implementation of funded activities.
The RSPO coordinates activities that seek outside funding to support research, scholarship and outreach projects; oversees the human subjects review process for both sponsored and non-sponsored projects; enables faculty development activities related to sponsored program efforts; and encourages interdisciplinary collaborations internally and with groups external to the college.
RSPO also attempts to learn of individual and campus research interests in attempts to match those interests with funding opportunities. Specific funding opportunities are forwarded directly to interested parties while more general opportunities are available through the Funding Opportunities page and electronic listserv.
