The spirit mark family is the most informal of SUNY Cortland’s brand assets. It aims to build school spirit and inspire pride among current students and alumni. It is a nod to our history and competitive nature while reflecting the passion Red Dragons feel for the university.
The marks can be used on merchandise that promotes a sense of overall school spirit within non-academic contexts. Examples include:
- Red Dragon Pride Day, Spring Fling and other celebratory campus events
- Reunion and other alumni activities
- Cortaca Jug and other athletic promotions
The spirit marks are not logos and may not be used in any of the following conditions:
- In place of the SUNY Cortland primary institutional or athletics logos
- To promote academic offerings or achievements
- To represent an individual unit, group or office
- For materials designed for audiences outside of the SUNY Cortland community
It is available for use by permission from the Marketing Office. Please complete the Spirit Mark Request Form below to inquire about usage.
